PhoneRider® USB introduces
a new level of serviceability and ease of use to computer telephony (CT).
Base on the industry standard Universal Serial Bus (USB) specification,
PhoneRider USB simply plugs into the USB port on a PC, and hardware set-up
is complete. It eliminates the need to open the computer to install
internal cards.
PhoneRider®
Firmware
Phonerider®
Firmware runs on the board's DSP freeing the CPU of the host PC for other
tasks. It has three main modules:
- call progress
analysis
- signal processing
- echo cancellation
Call Progress
Analysis
As the call progresses, Handset on/off
hook, DTMFs, Dialtone, Ringback, Connected, Caller ID, Silence, Voice,
Busy, fax/modem, SIT events and tones are detected..

Echo Cancellation
PhoneRider® is equipped with three
independent device-specific echo cancellation algorithms for each of the
Telephone line, Handset and Speaker phone.
PhoneRider®
Drivers
PhoneRider® is
shipped with it's own Telephony Service Provider (TSP) and Wave driver.
These two drivers provide access to PhoneRider® hardware functions
through standard Microsoft application programming interfaces:
- Telephone API (TAPI)
- Wave API
All applications using
these APIs (including TeleTools) will be operational with the PhoneRider
USB board.
Features
- Dynamic media streaming architecture and
full duplex DSP environment
- Superior handset management
- Professional headset support
- Support of all TAPI functions including
IP telephony
- Full duplex speakerphone
- Adaptive audio streaming
- DTMF generation and detection
- Caller-ID Detection
- Call Progress Analysis
- Loop current drop (wink disconnect)
detection
- SIT detection
- Fax/modem detection
- Scalable up to four ports (using a USB
hub)
